WOW, who is this person, and where did she come from? I had to laugh at her, and then remembered how the Irish are. What can we say, we have been hated for so long, and by so many a few more loud mouths, really makes no difference.
You would think if anyone would understand and sympathize with the plight of the Jewish people it would be the Irish. But for whatever reason, the Irish sympathize with the Palestinians and don’t seem to care about how Israelis are suffering at all. Let me be absolutely clear. I love Ireland and it’s people, I’m proud of my Irish ancestor on my mother’s side without whom I wouldn’t exist and I love celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. But I don’t love Ireland’s government nor the rampant antisemitism you’ll find in the Irish Republic. The Irish love the Palestinians so much because they identify with them as a people who lived under occupation and suffered oppression, I get it. But it’s more complicated than just that. Israel does the occupation of the West Bank and the blockade of Gaza for reasons of national security. Hey Ireland, you are aware of who runs the Palestinian Territories right? Fatah and Hamas. Fatah is corrupt out the wazoo and does pay for slay. Don’t even get me started on what’s wrong with Hamas. If you’ve seen the footage of October 7th you know who they are. Does Ireland not know this information? Are they that ignorant they can’t see why these security measures must be taken or why Palestinian leadership is dangerous?
Also, are the Irish aware of the Arab Apartheid against Palestinians? Funny how when it comes to Israel’s occupation they yap all day long but they are totally silent about Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and others treating Palestinians as second-class citizens. Their stance on this issue is so incredibly one-sided and un-nuanced. It’s hard to believe at one time Ireland produced the likes of Chaim Herzog.
As for Francesca Albanese she embarrassed herself and couldn’t even get through an overwhelmingly friendly interview with an Irish journalist because they dared to bring up American scholars who tell the truth about what’s going on with Israel-Palestine. She immediately flipped out, lost it and walked out and threw a temper tantrum because they should only “trust the Irish scholars.” Yes, because their biased and unreliable. She totally embarrassed herself yet again, on national radio. No, Francesca don’t trust Irish scholars who are all sycophants for Hamas and are probably paid by them.
If you want to read scholars and writers who actually can help you to understand the conflict in all its complexity you need to read people like Noa Tishby, Daniel Gordis, Michael Oren, Einat Wilf, Benny Morris, Tom Segev, and Ronan Bergman. You should not be reading the works of Irish scholars who distort history for political reasons. Folks like Ilan Pappe, Shlomo Sand, Norman Finkelstein, Rashid Khalidi, and Max Blumenthal are conmen who distort history to meet a certain political agenda and omit any facts that don’t suit their narrative. That’s the type of people Albanese would like you to be reading. But these people have nothing valuable to say. Not everyone in Ireland I will say is against Israel. There is an Ireland-Israel Alliance. Here’s a link to their X account: https://x.com/irlisralliance?lang=en.
Here is what I propose to Ireland. You needn’t abandon your Palestinian brothers and sisters you can still support them. But you need to do the same for your Israeli brothers and sisters. You need to support a peace accords and a two-state solution. Ireland needs to adopt a balanced stance on this issue. Support both Israel and Palestine and don’t be afraid to criticize either one. I’m not suggesting at all you become sycophants for the Netanyahu government. You can support Israel but also criticize it when you think it’s done wrong. Same goes for the Palestinians. I can’t wait for the day we hear the Irish government call out Fatah and Hamas too! But right now they are like a whole nation full of Jimmy Dores and Kurt Metzgers. They suffer from that dreaded Earth disease known as Israel Derangement Syndrome. That needs to stop! The Emerald Isle needs to be a peacemaker and a champion of coexistence between the two peoples not stoking more intolerance with a one-sided, uninformed stance against the Jewish state.
It would be super easy (and accurate) to go ad hominem on Francesca Albanese, but instead I'd rather point out how her derangement at the idea that American Jews have a say in Israel. She's from Italy and clearly has no problem interfering in the affairs of a country and multiple peoples of which she has zero connection or direct interest; while according to her, American Jews, whose existence is partially secured by Israel's existence, shouldn't be listened to--but anti-Zionist Israelis *must* be considered and taken seriously.
It's really difficult to put into words how vile and evil the anti-Israel mob is, to a person. Francesca Albanese is more of a programmed bot than a recognizable human being, which is probably why she stays in the role.
Many petitions, but an organization that has Cuba on its human rights committee is unlikely to care. Yet another sign of the corruption and degradation of the UN.
Perhaps the Irish could take in the Gazans. Sounds like a match made in, well, maybe not quite heaven but still worth considering.
This Professional Jew Hater has been 100% awful 100% of the time.

I heard that they're about to reappoint her for another 3-year term at the UN, so I suppose we should get used to seeing more of her...

Sadly true.
There’s a petition somewhere to try and prevent it. If I come across the link again I’ll post it.
