Piers Morgan is Not an Antisemite
But that does not matter, because it answers the wrong question
I’m not exactly proud to admit this, but admit it I must:
has been living rent-free in my head for awhile now. Before October 7th, I hardly knew about him or his YouTube show Uncensored that has since grown to over 4 million subscribers. I do not believe I am alone in how I stumbled upon it: by watching a Jewish influencer featured on the show attempt to talk sense into a rabid antisemite/As a Jew seated on the other side of what he calls “debates.” Piers has basically done his job of converting me and millions of others into regular consumers of his show, which speaks to his skill as both an Internet personality and an entertainer. It does not speak to his ability to analyze a complex conflict like the Israel-Hamas War, however, yet he’s been pretending at it nearly every single day since the war began.I became obsessed with this conflict too—indeed, it inspired this very Substack publication. In the weeks following October 7th, I felt my world shattering around me. I needed a way to communicate what I was experiencing to a larger audience. As a (Zionist) Jew, I feel rightfully entitled to that obsession because it’s a matter that directly involves the health and safety of my own community. I also have the right to question the motives of non-Jews who have built lucrative platforms around my own people’s misery. Aren’t there other global conflicts not involving Jews that could use the attention of Piers’s followers of millions? Yes—but no Jews, no news.
For awhile—and remember, this is a war that has now been going on for almost 2 years and talked about nonstop on every major media outlet since it started—I kept my regular consumption of the show under wraps. I watched each episode the way that my friends and I watched Springer as teenagers at 3pm. It was after school but before our parents got home, so we could watch that garbage undetected and have a laugh at the half-naked tramps throwing chairs at each other. It was the intellectual equivalent of wolfing down junk food before dinner without getting caught, and I undertook the same thought process with Uncensored (except now I am now a grown woman with my own home who need not answer to any parental figures. It was more like having to answer to my own head).
But I recently stumbled upon something that made me feel completely vindicated in this behavior.
just launched an entire series on her State of Tel Aviv podcast specifically on Jews who have appeared on Uncensored. Evidently, I am not the only Jew on Substack attempting to grapple with this peculiar phenomenon. At first, I justified watching the show with my need to know what type of vile nonsense that “the other side” felt compelled to sling in our direction. Piers has proudly featured rabid antisemites with zero expertise in this area like Candace Owens, Dan Bilzerian, and Andrew Tate to provide their (unsurprising) takes on the issue. In the beginning, I rationalized them as one-off events designed to shock. But now that Candace Owens has returned to the show at least five times to pass off her vile antisemitism as genuine discussion of the Israel-Hamas War, I think we can pretty much conclude that serious analysis is not Piers’s priority.
I am not suggesting that the show does not have certain redeeming qualities. I am a huge fan of Jonathan Conricus (many who know me also know of my not-so-secret crush on him), and he’s been featured on his show multiple times as a rare voice of reason in a sea full of hate. Piers has also featured other important Jewish influencers from around the world, many from Israel. Without getting into too much of the minutia of everyone he’s platformed, I’ll just put it this way: some have represented our people better than others.
But there was one particular interaction that sent me reeling, one that convinced me that Jews may need to boycott the show entirely. It was the episode featuring Natasha Hausdorff appearing opposite that fucktard Dave Smith. This is how he treated Natasha, and it’s merely a small excerpt of the entire trainwreck of an interview:
After this broadcast, the Zionists of social media had an understandable fit. How could he treat her like this? He is an antisemite. He hates women. He must be an antisemite.
There are many possible reasons that he treated Natasha in this atrocious manner. My own theory is that like many other Boomer men of today, he feels intense frustration at attractive young women he wants but can’t have (there’s a parallel phenomenon for Boomer women, and I explain that specifically as it relates to Natasha here). It’s the same force driving Piers’s open vitriol for Meghan Markle, although I do not wish to compare Meghan to Natasha in any intellectual sense. I respect one far more than the other.
While he has platformed his fair share of antisemites, I don’t believe Piers himself to be one of them. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: calling someone an antisemite is a serious accusation that should only be reserved for the genuine Jew-haters. In the end, that’s not what really matters in the case of Piers Morgan. Here’s the real question, and it’s the only one that matters: why is he so completely obsessed with this one conflict in this one tiny part of the world, and why is he willing to platform morally bankrupt non-experts to profit from it? Failure to answer that question indicates an absence of a moral compass, which I believe to be Piers’s fatal flaw (or greatest asset depending on how one chooses to view it).
So I’ll continue watching Uncensored with the same enthusiasm as I did with Springer as an immature middle schooler. This time, however, it’s far more personal because the subjects aren’t trailer trash from Appalachia given their 15 minutes on a show hosted by a smart Jewish man (as Springer was). This one happens to be a goy tabloid “journalist” with no compunction about profiting handsomely off of Jewish pain—pain that he is now complicit in facilitating. And that, in my opinion, is the mortal sin of Piers Morgan.
