Candace Owens is truly a POS. I'm completely baffled by why people like Ben Shapiro and Dennis Prager ever supported her. Probably they were bending over backwards to prove that they weren't racist. What goals me is that the people you are talking about will bend over backwards to prove that they are not racist, and will defend people of colors right to define racist for themselves whereas we Jews... We have to fight for defining what anti-Semitism is and is not.

I'm not baffled. It's what happens when one engages in tokenism in the running of their businesses. Don't be surprised when the token you hired because you believed she thought just like you about everything....ends up not.

Shapiro and Prager are both directly responsible for Owens's rise to fame and I'm sure both are too narcissistic to grasp their role in that.

I call it “racism against Jews”. It does make people think twice a bit, as it’s not at all en vogue to be racist at the moment

While it’s conventional to regard “Jew-hate” and “antisemitism” as synonymous, I do prefer to use the terms for different things, even if my editor often uses “Jew-hate” in the headline of my articles because it works better as a headline since it’s a shorter word.

Jew-hate is a feeling. Antisemitism is an ideology. The latter is an intellectual/ideological system built around the feel of Jew-hate, turning the feeling into the fuel for an ideology.

Take Owens for example here. With her podcast she is not simply fomenting hate against Jews. She is promulgating a far-right authoritarian Christian nationalist antisemitic ideology. Same thing with far-left “anti-Zionists” and the Islamists. Antisemitism is the effort to turn a feeling into a mass movement.

And I think exposing this movement is worthwhile and necessary. Because of the intense media exposure against Richard Spencer as an antisemite, that genuinely did make it much harder to operate. At one point he had to rent a barn on some guy’s property to hold one of his events because he couldn’t get a venue to rent to him.

Owens is still in the middle of this process now. While she may be very well known to us terminally-online people, ask some rando on the street living in the normal world and they may not have heard of her. So the process of making it widely known and clear that she is now perhaps the leading godless antisemite of her generation is necessary.

"Jew hate" works for me.

Is accurate, clear and pungent.

Also, it's good to let the "We just support hatred and murder in the name of a better world" people know that not everyone falls for their lies and delusions. They will never want to take a clear look at themselves in the mirror (could be too ugly) but slapping one of their go-to labels on them is a good first step.

Have you ever considered that Jews aren't actually Semitic? Most Israelis have European/Russian origins, so the term 'anti Semite ' is a misnomer at best

I can only cite my experience: I think Israel has a right to exist, I think it has a right to defend itself from Palestinian terrorism and aggression from other countries, I try to hold Israel to the same standards I hold other countries to... and people online still screech that I hate Jews for asserting nothing more than Israel would have to share the land with Palestinians as equals in the unlikely event of peace. Yes, I am afraid in some contexts "antisemite" is absolutely a cheap political smear.
