Glad you made it out. My boss got stuck too, headed to Eilat, from there to Sharm El-Sheikh and from there Europe, then the US.

I'm curious to know about his experience evacuating via Egypt -- everyone else I know did so either via Jordan or Cyprus.

"Sharm el-Sheikh is such crap" was his comment. It's a long drive to Eilat, and then Eilat to Sharm, but at least the coastal view of the Red Sea is beautiful.

Sorry you got stranded, but glad you got home. Don't resent El Al. You must remember that Israel is not Th US. They shut down over Shabbat even during war.

Mike Huckabee says there are 700,000 Americans in Israel. This is a huge number in addition to the 9.7 million in Israel who are citizens of that country. We must demand that the U.S. government evacuate our fellow Americans to the safety of their birthright country in America rather than their being held hostage in a foreign land.

This may take as long as a week if 25 or so planes fly in every day. Perhaps the U.S. Navy can send in big troop carriers to take them as far as Greece.
