Nice one, Jill. To be fair to her, though, she conducted herself much better in that interview than in the Piers Morgan one, which I doubt she will ever live down.
Piers Morgan never asked her straight up if she was antisemitic. The closest he came was when he asked her if she knew about Human Rights Watch and she acted at first like she didn't. =P
"From now on I will refer to it as Occupied Etruria, in recognition of the indigenous Etruscans who lived there peacefully until the Romans colonized them." LOL. Love it, and I'm stealing that for any future encounter with an Italian far leftist.
Check out the new Yvonne Ridley interview. She talks about Hamas and all their “acts of kindness.” And Candace Owens was saying the other day that ppl are talking about the emaciated hostages but “were silent about starved Gaza’s children.” The idea that anyone has been silent about Gaza….lol. I really want to know if they are delusional or know exactly what they’re doing and what the truth is. It’s probably a bit of both.
She actually claimed that Hamas had committed "acts of kindness"? Yikes. Just when I think this woman couldn't sink any lower, she surprises me yet again. This goes far beyond mere ignorance. She is the diplomatic ambassador for Islamic terrorism.
Francesca Albanese is a total embarrassment. The UN needs to fire her and abolish her position. What does she do anyway? She’s a hero for all these folks on the left and the right who hate Israel, don’t like the United States gives aid to Israel and believes in all these kooky conspiracy theories about AIPAC. Here’s the thing folks, elected officials don’t strongly support Israel because of AIPAC’s lobbying efforts. They do so because Israel is popular with the American public. AIPAC prior to the Six-Day War and America becoming more closely aligned with Israel was a nothing entity. AIPAC only became a thriving lobbying group after Israel emerged as a regional power in 1967 and started on the road to its alliance with Israel in the 1980s. AIPAC would be nothing without Israel’s status as an important geopolitical ally and public popularity. As to the aid thing, look I get it we need to take care of our citizens first and as the DOGE has shown, the U.S. government does a terrible job responsibly and equitably spending its money. But America is a wealthy enough country that we can do both. Anywho, going back to Ms. Albanese she made herself look incredibly bad in the interview with all her deflections, non-sequiturs and strawmen. If she wasn’t antisemitic she would just say “no, no I am not.” But instead she insists on making a big production out of it. Yes, the accusation of antisemitism gets thrown around too much, yes, false accusations of antisemitism are wrong and unproductive, yes, not everyone in the pro-Palestinian movement is a antisemite. But none of this changes the fact it is a big problem within the pro-Palestine movement and Francesca Albanese is a great example of it. She has nothing to say about countries committing real human rights abuses like Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Myanmar, Cuba, Congo, Sudan, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Venezuela, Uganda, etc. But she’s always talking about Israel over and over again. She has this weird fixation on it I will never understand. As to the occupied West Bank I agree that the occupation isn’t perfect, the Palestinians have legitimate grievances with Israel and that the encroachment of the settlements unto Palestinian land needs to stop. But overall I’d say Israel handles the occupation pretty well and that it is done as humanely as possible. Not to mention how important it is for Israeli security. There are no large-scale human rights abuses going in the West Bank (at least not by Israel, the PA on the other hand…). Abuses on Palestinians by Israeli soldiers and settlers are wrong and should be prosecuted. But generally speaking Israel does its best to treat the Palestinians in the West Bank with humanity and dignity. If Francesca Albanese wants to talk about large-scale human rights abuses than she needs to focus on Fatah, Hamas and the Arab countries not the Jewish state! It is those three parties who actually oppress the Palestinian people! West Bank Palestinians can work in Israel, are protected from harm in times of war, can get free medical care from the IDF, can marry Israelis if they so choose, they can obtain Israeli citizenship, and have a degree of self-government. How is that oppression? How is the occupation a human rights abuse? Yes, I have criticisms of aspects of it, but it is hardly as bad as she and others make it out to be. Do I feel sorry for Palestinians having to live under military occupation with restrictions? Of course I do. I get why they don’t like it. But it is so crucial to Israel’s national security so that suicide bombers don’t attack the Jewish state with impunity and Fatah and Hamas don’t launch another October 7th on an even larger scale. Israeli security and Palestinian freedom are tied together. This is just how it is. Anti-Zionist Jews like the ones she lists as her props and get out of jail free card, are blind to who some of their colleagues really are. No, a Jewish person doesn’t have to support Zionism if they don’t want to. But they would be better off if they did.
I know someone in the Yiddish Revival movement. A young, English, feminist, fluent in “Bundist Yiddish” (socialist Yiddish), etc. who was making constant comparisons between Israelis and Nazis after 10/7. Her PhD “focuses on the interwar Jewish anti-fascist left”. She collects money for a young Gazan family and generally walks around fuming about the state of Israel.
It’s incredible! She makes it so easy to identify a blatant antisemite! She’s got no cover, none at all. Completely transparent. Oh, except one thing: she works at the UN, represents Jew haters, and speaks to a world of Jew haters. It’s called hiding in full view.
Imagine if Albanese had been asked if she was a racist towards non-white peoples, and she had responded in the way she did above. Her career would be over. Just goes to show one of the many double standards people have, when they are usually so hyper-sensitive towards any kind of racism, whether real, or, as if often the case, perceived.
Why isn’t there a call for her to step down? Not because of her antisemitism but because of her colossal failure at her job! Under her watch , Gaza is flattened, 40,000 Palestinians are dead in a war that Hamas started with UN funding, the Palestinian “refugees “ may become actual refugees. Not only did the UN not help these people, but caused their utter destruction. She should be crying on a bathroom floor somewhere, not giving interviews.
I’ve seen enough of this cretin to fairly conclude she lacks a single redeeming human quality. That’s probably how she got the job.

But it's a valid point: the number of nations that are younger than Israel, yet lecturing Israel about colonisation, is galling.

Wow. Because we all know that if starving Gazan children need an advocate, Candace Owens is really #1.
She actually claimed that Hamas had committed "acts of kindness"? Yikes. Just when I think this woman couldn't sink any lower, she surprises me yet again. This goes far beyond mere ignorance. She is the diplomatic ambassador for Islamic terrorism.
Well done Jill.

She really does bring to mind the c-word.
Someone needs to ask her if she is a Jihadist, a Nazi, a sexual predator …
"As a lawyer, a mom, and an antisemite, I resent being asked if I am a jihadist!"
Love this !

Why am I not surprised? I bet her dissertation will win some kind of award for social justice.
Actually I have a hopeful feeling that she won’t get far with it. 🤷🏻♀️ maybe just a pipe dream.
The intellectual decline of academia, personified.

This woman is a slippery, self-congratulating, manipulative, emotionally twisted …..!
Like asking Muhammad if Raping Slaves is good. (Which he ultimately says it is https://hadithcollection.com/sahihmuslim/sahih-muslim-book-08-marriage/sahih-muslim-book-008-hadith-number-3371 )
Great distillation. Isn’t she Albanian? Doesn’t her last name give it away that she is not Italian?
She’s Italian - maybe her family is of Albanian descent?
She could have just said “no”.
Uhm. And you write FOR higher education you say
